slow download speeds
I'm having over 200mbps on my laptop whenever i download a game , recently gotten a new pc and its download at a speed of 5mbps. The only solution I've found is to turn on my laptop when downloading the game on my pc then it boost back to 200mbps on my pc . But this has been very frustrating , I've tried everything from offing the local transfer option in download where it give you prompt to transfer from another computer. I've also off this settings in windows. Nothing Is working and I never understand why did steam even add this in the first place its cause a real headache for me then it is helping .There is a button to off local game transfer . But its does nothing i my case . I'm not sure what to do anymore I thought maybe i could contact steam support but even their page it doesn't really have help or gives solution for this kind of problems . I really hope someone can help.

Steam can obliterate 1gbps connections and can send 500mbps over trans alantic and trans pacific lines

Your steam downloads are limited by

1) your CPU
2) your disk IO
3) your anti-virus
4) your ISP

Nah but this is a steam problem for real how is that any of my other platform works fine but not steam? Ive really think thats its not normal for it behave at that kinda speed. Everything you have listed is not the problem , think about if your getting 6mbps download speed on your pc and then sudden when you open steam on your laptop the speed suddenly gets boosted to 200 mbps ? It has something to do with steam not my problem ,

change your download region to anywhere but south east asia. People report peering issues.

Be aware that changing your download region also changes your Steam Matchmaking region for games that use Steam Networking. Therefore, for better multiplayer performance, change it back to something close to you after you finished downloading.

Thank you. Because of your reply I was able to fix my issue. However can you explain to me why download speeds are low on southeast asia servers? And will they be fixed anytime soon?

no one knows. I suspect it's a peering agreement issue. Therefore, an ETA cannot be given.

honestly bro i dont know what to do anymore how is it works fine 280 mbps download speed on my laptop and just 6-7 or even 3 mbps when using my pc . I basically wanna give up finding a solution cause steam dont even have a direct support for problems like this

Hello, i have the same problem. But i found my solution. In some cases when the game already installed, just verify the integrity of the game. If you downloading the and still slow, try verify integrity of files Steam redistributable. :foxhimezero_mori1:, It worked for me.

try the 218 server, im from Turkey and i could only get 300mbps out of my 1000mbps connection on İstanbul but when i connected to 218 i started to get 750-800mbps
