Yea, actually been happening since 2023. It is because of a defective nvidia driver file. It recently got worse though. It was never fixed. It started out only crashing ubisoft games, now it crashes all games.

It recently started effecting steam overlay (since apparently may for some people) too and every game. This is nvidia's fault. I reported it back in 2023 for them to fix it on their support forum, but they never did. Even ubisoft tried to fix it in their games.

Steam cannot fix this issue. This is on nvidia's end. You can try telling them like i did in 2023, but they did not listen to me back then. You might even find my forum post still from 2023 in the support forum.

Yes, i warned people back then to report it or it will get worse...well they never reported it, and now it got worse.

well since it gets worse now there will likely be a fix sooner because happens to me 2 times a game so i just disable steam overlay

Umm..no. This has been a problem since 2023 for me. It has not been fixed for me yet. It also has gotten worse. Only way it will get fixed if people pester Nvidia to make a fix. I emailed and posted it on support back in 2023, but they did not fix it (this was Nvidia). Either they knew about it, or just did not care since i was only 1 person at that time reporting it. Either way, best way to get it fixed is to pester Nvidia since i believe the issue is with their faulty driver until im proven wrong with the coding.

Steam is not going to fix your pc if you have other ovaerlay that make interference with steam verlay

This isssue was past 2023, all depend on past pc build with IGPU and a a Main card. that dont like each other., more a minor issue back then, later a increased issue over many years.
