"Games owned on other platforms" kind of list?
Many of us own games outside of Steam, perhaps even outside of the PC platform itself. I, for one, do! It would be really great to have an option such as "Owned on a different platform" or whatever, just like when you wishlist a game.

Why would that be any good?
Well, here are few reasons i'm thinking of right now, perhaps there are even more:

- Steam would start recommending games based on your library and these "Owned on another platform" games as well. It will make the "Explore" section a lot more accurate and to point.
- On a similar note, steam would stop suggesting games to you either in the store homepage or in your queues that you already own.
- Another important aspect is to let your friends know of the games you own. I have been in a situation where i send a friend of mine a gift just to find out that he/she played it on another platform before. How could i possibly know if i wanted to surprise that friend of mine.

If someone adds a game to such a list, he/she won't be able to review the game or do anything only an original game owner could do. This will make it a risk-free addition as there is no possible way to verify whether someone actually owns such a game on another platform or not.

Steam has become more than just a store for games.. It became a platform on its own. A huge community of gamers. This suggestion will only emphasize this aspect.

That would require a partnership with these other services, such as Origin, gog and more where the steam client would be able to connect and get the data on those services.

The other option would be getting into a public api, somewhat what valve is providing but again you would need them(origin,gog....) to have such api available, but as far as i know they dont.

Then we get to the matter, i personally dont think this will ever happen however you are able to do this yourself or maybe someone made a site,tool or script that would do this.

Steam does not and will not recommend games based on what you own.

@MalikQauym
It does not need any kind of partnership.. It is just a normal list where you add your own games yourself. That's why i suggested it does not provide you with any special access that only real owners would have.

And it would only work for current games in the store.. Like for example i have Far Cry and Rainbow six siege on Uplay but these games are here on steam.

I don't see how this wouldn't work but i appreciate your input :)

@Cinedine
Not sure what you're speaking of, but the steam i use does that.
*Did not take me more than few scrolls to get these 2 pictures.. Guess what? I already own 3 of these recommended games on other platforms, such as PS4*

And... As for "Explore":

How is my Discovery Queue generated?
The products in your queue are brought together from a variety of sources – new, popular, top-selling or similar to other products you have on Steam. It tries to strike a balance between prioritizing products known to be good, and new products that you may find interesting.

install playnite. It syncs all the games from all platforms, I have so many games I sometimes forget I owned them.

If you read the op from 2018, the features they are asking for is nothing Playnite would be able to achieve for them.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
