USD pricing is killing gaming and sales in Pakistan !!
Hey Fellow Gamers and Steam officials,
I’m a gamer from Pakistan and I wanted to request that Steam should consider changing the default currency for Pakistani users from USD to PKR (Pakistani Rupees) or at least INR( Indian Rupees) . Currently, buying games in USD makes them very expensive and less accessible for the average gamer here. Other platforms like EA App, Microsoft Store, and the Xbox App already use INR and PKR (Pakistani Rupees) for Pakistani users, and it makes a huge difference in affordability. INR pricing is much closer to PKR and would allow more players in Pakistan to buy games which will boost sales of steam games as Pakistan population wise is a big country and has unexpectedly high amount of users. Please consider this regional adjustment—it would help a lot of us who love gaming but are limited by USD prices.
Thank you!

Even though Pakistan uses the USD on Steam, Valve has already assigned it to a special region called South Asia USD which means that you can already have different USD prices compared to other USD regions. I wouldn't expect Steam to add support for the Pakistani Rupee anytime soon or to swap Pakistan to the INR anytime soon. In the meantime I would suggest you try contacting developers and publishers and ask them to adjust their price for the South Asia USD price.
Thanks for the reply,
But You are wrong cuz right now Fc 25 has the same 13.99$ price in both America and Pakistan... For Americans maybe its normal but for us who earn in PKR this is not a very normal price.... Other than that every other Game is also listed for the same price as in America....

Pakistan is in the USD_SASIA region.

USD_SASIA

We also recommend a discounted USD price for several South Asian countries where we don't have local pricing. This is presented as "USD_SASIA" in the pricing tools. These countries are: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

Ask the EA for better pricing in your region as they are the ones that ignored Valve's own suggested prices and increased it +204% to be in line with regular full USD prices...

Oh!
That's very bad and sad for us gamers in Pakistan if they don't change the currency because the prices for each game is very high... People rather buy from Microsoft Store and EA app or they just play the pirated game! STEAM HAS GOOD NUMBER OF USERS FROM PAKISTAN IF THEY ATLEAST SWITCH THE PRICES TO INR...sales will double up from Pakistan!

Valve has no control over how EA prices their games. And EA wants you on their service or to subscribe to EA Play or get Game Pass which includes EA Play.

Ask the publisher of the specific game or games to adjust their USD_SASIA prices. Valve cannot force the publisher to price better.
A single Pakistani Rupee is worth $0.0035 USD.

Not even worth 1¢ USD.

So, the reason why it's so expensive is because your currency has very little purchase power.

If they cannot force so why they claim to offer discounted USD pricing (USD_SASIA) for Pakistan, but prices are usually the same as the U.S.—this defeats the purpose of regional pricing.... Either they give us INR or introduce PKR as the currency or force the developers to give that discount!

NOPE the main reason why games feel so expensive is cuz they don't enforce developers to grant discounted regional prices and nor they introduce PKR as a currency
