I’m dumb what’s the 3rd cord on this adapter?
This one [www.amazon.ca] My new gpu only has dp and my asus v248qe needs dvi. Still beats buying a new monitor though I guess?

Did you get the 5060 then?

I would put the $64 that cost's into a new screen.

You could probably find a monitor second hand with DP for that much, won't be the best screen but I imaging better than the one you have being that old.

No it doesn't, you could get a new, much better monitor for not much more than that adaptor, it's time to upgrade.
That is weird because I own that monitor and it has DP, HDMI, and DVI (ASUS VG248QE). :citizensurprised:

Yeah I just checked, OP, your monitor has dp and hdmi.

Still, probably time to consider an upgrade.

Yeah I did, and true. I'll probably just get the DP cord because I didn't realize my monitor had that lmao, but anyway what would the main differences be with new monitors anyway? Mine is 1080p and 144hz that's all I need. Is there some other factor with monitors I don't know about haha

usb is to adapt power
dp signal is 3.3v, dvi signal is 5v
most dp to hdmi/dvi adapters use the dp 3.3 and boost it to 5v

To be honest I was lazy and didn't google the screen and assumed it was just some old thing, yeah grab a DP cable for sure.

It was supplied with one but it was really short and i had to replace mine anyway. And I've bought Startech stuff before and found it garbage, does not always work.

it does support 1080p 144hz, dvi may have been limiting it to 1080p60

No dual link dvi supports 144
_I_ 18 JUN a las 18:42
not all dvi are dual link, cable can also limit to single, or be dvi-a (analog, which can support 1920x1200@60hz)
