I’m afraid to play games now
Let me expand a bit with a few words.

I’m not totally sure if other gamers are the same but I feel the need to fine tune resource intensive games more than less because I care about the longevity of my hardware.
I hope starting with this comment leads to more advanced discussion because I’m unable to spend my free time relaxing in the a/c to a good game because the responses I’ve gotten this past 8 or 9 hours of troubleshooting just boiled down to this absolute gem of a coherent human analysis- “ Game maxing out your pc components is a good thing, that means everything is being used as it should.”.

To not waste anyone’s time including my own I’ll get right to the issue I’m dealing with.

Cyberpunk specifically took me some time in the benchmark to really zero in on the intensity to my computer. Maybe 70 hours gametime and nothing to complain about,

Beyond acceptable frames, amazing smack dab in the middle resource intensity.

Supposedly crashing is common in cyberpunk? Me personally have had three or four. And they showed up closer to now than earlier in the story of the game.

Two days ago began an unsolvable mystery as to why games I play now are using ALL of my card? And roughly 20/30 percent more processing power? Something is wrong and I’ve gone down to checking .ini ‘s to get any sort of let up.

Cyberpunk specifically has my card maxed out on resources regardless of map location. I’ve even had some fun messing with default settings such as Ultra/RT/DLAA also every setting to low. Nothing is changing that this game and cs2 are now %100 ing my card whereas two days ago my stat sheet looked like this consistently—>

CPU-60/70
GPU-50/70
—————

The only logical research I’ve came across in 9 hours is perhaps a driver update thinking the integrated graphics needs to be used//mobo thinks gpu is in wrong slot
———
Disabled integrated, no budge.
I’m lost here on what else I can try it seems like I’ve done it all.

Clean install later GPU Driver or clean install an older one and do not allow any auto updates to occur; disable that in your apps/OS.

Verify your OS in PowerShell using the SFC and DISM commands

Verify your Games via Steam via game properties.

Update BIOS as well as other drivers such as Intel related drivers.

Check for any suspicious background activity. Win11 updates over time may have reset some things so check all of that as well. Disable Core Isolation and Memory Integrity in Defender.

RTX 4060 then you most likely want RT off, and use DLSS

Use DLSS updater app and add game libraries to that and do a check for updates; this can easily update all supported games FSR and DLSS files to latest versions.

Sharing specs is standard PC troubleshooting.

Not sharing your PC specs when you're having issues is like asking someone to help fix a problem with your car, but not telling them what kind of car you drive.

And guesswork is the most expensive way to fix anything.
worked in a shop through high-school and out of it. also have had a computer by me since i could remember. Its extremely easy to run a basic diagnostic with basic questions.

My #1 most popular phone call in a shop started with "whys my car"

idk if this is the right place to get a discussion going. seems like the population here got corroded away by the hate train, if you knew anything to begin with youd have some things to ask or a couple of suggestions to try.

So stop wasting time here please, i stated the components and you came after just to be smart w/ it.

Fix it yourself then.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Also running by a system restore
om namo 3 Jul @ 9:11pm
TBD tomorrow I’ve been at it making restore points and minor adjustments a little bit over twelve hours now
Why do you ever need such a feature? Does not even work half the time

Not hard to just wipe all the installed drivers and any extra drivet r4lated software out, which wipes those configuration out and reboot and redo them, then reconfigure everything properly

Did you use any FPS limiter before?
Because otherwise you were most likely CPU bottlenecked.
If you are not CPU bound and not FPS limited then the GPU will always try to reach 99%.

CPU on the other hand is more tricky and can be a bottleneck even below 50% utilisation.

If you like to be easy on your hardware then FPS cap is the simplest way. Then you can add some undervolting and top tier cooling.

So the pc is finally working like it should be, is your fps up or down? As frankly, your previous usage levels look wrong.

As for why you always share your specs, someone might also have an oddity like yours and go 'oh yes, this was the cause'.

Plus, it's just common courtesy, you haven't really given half your system spec's or how the game was and is now running, only that it was running heavily under utilised before and by usage atleast, properly now, likely higher fps too.

Any chance you had your fps locked yo 30 or something before and us now unlocked?

Feel free to be helpful to those offering their time to help, or act like a child and suffer in silence,
