Would a US remake of Squid Game really beat the original one or not?
Let's say they remade the entire series but with the cast consisting of Westerners and they're speaking English (the original one takes place in South Korea with a Korean cast with subtitles), but the thing is that the actual "Squid Game" is a Korean children's game which is not something that resonates with US culture, so would an actual American remake really succeed or fail?

Depends on how good the writing is. If they keep the front man from the original that'd be great too.
It would fail miserably. One cannot discount cultural storylines surrounding Korea. Korea and United States differ vastly in cultural, societal and mannerism. Clothings and props would have to be changed to fit American styles. It would simply won't work without redoing everything in a different setting.

Name me one time an usa remake was better than the original.
There's already Hunger Games and The Purge which are kinda similar concepts.
It might be successful I mean there must have been a market for the American version of The Ring.
I still can't get over how they were playing a Korean game in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ L.A. lmfao uwu
probably will be bad, but apparently the spanish version of breaking bad is pretty good, so who knows? give it a chance i guess

Good point. If that a preview of what a remake looks like, very bad idea.
