steam will soon remove all NSFW content from store?
i just saw that Paypal/Visa/Mastercard so basically 3 biggest credit card companies wont support any platform with NSFW content in it i dont know why those 3 credit card companies suddenly decided to do but does that mean you wont be allowed to have any nudity in triple AAA games or they wont be allowed to stay on steam? isnt this like end of gaming for gamers

There will probably be unforseen consequences for this, but in and of itself I don't really care. Slop like that used to be freeware, niche, or flash games.

this can include games that arent tagged as "nsfw" like hentai games but just normal games with partial nudity might not be allowed aswell
But they will gladly accept your payment to a paywall porn site.

but does anyone know why suddenly these 3 biggest companies decided to do this?
But you can still use all 3 to buy guns and 10,000 rounds of ammo.

itch just removed all its adult content. same reasoning as steam tho. but worse extent. freedom of speech and art doesnt exist anymore. seems they are pushing to remove more
I don't personally care, but this seems like a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen.

I mean they're not blocking payments to OnlyFans, hentai distributors, or porn sites are they? That seems hypocritical and unsustainable ... Or maybe those places are next.

but if it also means no game can have any partial nudity that would be the end of everything if its just literally porn games then i dont really care
Separate gaming and porn? Thumbs up from me

Both Itch and Steam caved to the credit card companies.

I think what we need is a game storefront that accepts crypto. Coingate is an example that can process transactions at websites using crypto.

Itch has a forum and there are people running interference for Itch but the fact is they run their website, not Visa or Mastercard, and they chose to delist the game in question and also shadowban all their NSFW games so they don't show up on searches anymore.

This is a dagger stabbed into the back of their community. Itch was created for indie devs, and they just stomped on one because it was convenient for them.

And they should know that this won't be the end of it. Now that they know it works, they will target more games through the payment processors. Will they step on more indie devs?

I've lost all respect for itch.io and probably won't do business there anymore.

Hopefully we get a indie game storefront that accepts crypto, and is operated in a country that doesn't engage in heavy-handed censorship like Australia.

The internet should not be run in accordance to any one nation's laws. If Australia doesn't like porn, then they can firewall their own country like China did. The rest of us shouldn't be forced to live in accordance to their puritanical beliefs.
