Pisses me off when people think I'm referring to Metallica.
Almost as much as it pisses me off when people think The Piper at the Gates of Dawn refers to Pink Floyd.

No problem! And just my opinion: the optimal approach to experiencing Rime of the Ancient Mariner is doing so alongside viewing the artwork from Gustave Doré. Great story on its own, but they go so well together. I’d argue it’s a story + illustration combo that’s on par with Alvin Schwartz & Stephen Gammell (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark trilogy).

This one is a beautiful poem, it gave me a chuckle at the end "it is a boring song but it works everytime".
I've actually been preparing to read the Illiad! I have the Robert Fangles translation and it starts with an introduction covering the translation, what the Iliad is about, Homer himself, and the history surrounding the time such as the Trojan War. I like reading up on such things because it gives me a better understanding of the material.
I's recommend the Robert Fitzgerald version
