I feel like alot of this gender competition, talk about 'roles', claiming women were put in the kitchen, could come from a place of actually feeling that one is inferior as a woman. And might need some sort of recognition in ways like this. But really if the history of warfare and martial arts was understood, this would probably vanish. Read about Fang Qiniang. Wing Chun was actually invented by a guy named Wing Chun. Fang defeated Wing Chun over and over again too teach him that crane is far superior to snake style. So he asked her to teach him crane style. New Shaolin and movies are like a decoration to the original monks. Every move was meant to kill back then and noone could touch them.
