And if men don't work their "loving" wife leaves them, takes the kids, they end up homeless/alone, and have all the time in the world to marinate in a whole new world of regrets.

Isn't life wonderful?

yeah, well, wtf do you want? that's life. bills have to be paid so you make sacrifices with your time. you can't have it all.

When you spend more time with your coworkers than family. That’s kinda sad to think about.

Well. if you don't know what you work on and why it is important, that is all bound to happen. "late" has nothing to do with it, mere misdirection.

Always has been

Sometimes we don't have the choice, we have to sacrifice our families relationship in order to keep the roof over our families head, catch 22. That the reality for so many men these days sadly.

That's okay (don't overthink things): pull yourself up by the bootstraps, and work a little harder to help pay off your bosses second yacht. :-)

Im done with killing myself for the company. I will do my work to be best of my ability while on clock but that's where it ends for me.

But we shouldn't get confused with the small business owner over the large greedy CEO's.

And if he wasn't feed them properly or pay for their quality of life, they will still remember him.
Badly.
With deep resentment.

Some people are just ungrateful. No one wants to work late.

There are workers out there who will risk their life trying to protect the company, only to be fired for doing so. I seen and read so many stories were a minimum wage worker has tried to stop shop lifters but ends up getting beaten, stabbed, shot and even killed and then ends up getting fired.

imagining dying and then getting fired on top of that.

Work too much, wife leaves you because your never there for her.

Work too little, wife leaves you because she wants someone with enough money to make her feel special

Such is life

This is a popular success lesson. But my version was simply "Noone ever regretted not working long enough on their death bed."

The only exception is if you're paving the way for future generations but it links back to family i.e. working to support your kids.
