Steam moderators enabling trolls and ban everyone that point them out.
It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating.

In the Street Fighter 6 Community hub is this one guy, I repeat ONE GUY that permanently spams the forum with one certain topic (Modern). He has 7 alt accounts, currently most of them being banned. (mostly because in his latest tirade he attacked other people, but swiftly created new alts)

He creates a new topic, does the SAME THING, ignores everyone that argues him, sometimes wallowing in the fact that people react to him. Like, a literal old-school troll.

So naturally, some of the regulars that already knows his shtick points out "Hey, that's the troll, don't respont to him". But the steam moderators are like "HHHHNNNGGGGGGGGGGGG, tHiS iS oFf-ToPiCCCC! GGHHHHHHHHNNNNNNNGGGHHH, dErAILiNG tHE DIScuSSIOn GGGGGGGBBBLBLBLBLLGGNNNNNNNGGGG!!11111!!! GGAGHRRRRRGGGG" and ban that person.

Like, I did create a support ticket. Support said "Welp, we can't do anything."

It's idotic. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiotic. This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

making a post here like we can do something about it lol
just ignore them

the others you want to warn will see what you see eventually

once they are not getting attention, they will move on
Just report them in that discussion hub,we have Steam moderators we are simply members and the rules state quite clear.
Steam has rules and guidelines to ensure a safe and fair environment for its users. These rules cover various aspects, including online conduct, content restrictions, and account security. Violations can lead to restrictions on account features, trading, and even account bans.

The rule has lack proper enforcement so OP is not wrong.

And the fact that you made a thread about it just show that YOU fell for the troll... YOU fed it yet another time... and the troll won yet another match...

It is not surprising that Valve are siding with troll of many kind.
If they're not breaking the rules, it's not trolling.

Rule breakers are the real trolls.

Don't break the rules.

If someone says something you don't like, don't engage. Nobody can hurt you online if you ignore them.

I'd be inclined to believe that getting ignored would probably be the worst thing for people who post attention seeking threads.

You have realize that troll that break rule do not receive punishment, even with report given to them, right? Hence Valve defend troll of many kind.
the mods just clsoed a thread that wasnt even a full year old. it was made sep 2024 its 6/25. someone flagged it if how they describe the system is right.

You mean the topic that hadn't been posted in since Sept 2024, up until someone bumped it to complain about woke?

Mods did their job, cleaning the forum up.

Just because you think someone is trolling, doesn't mean they are. And yes, that goes for me when I think someone else is trolling. Mods decide, doesn't mean they're showing preferential treatment to anyone.

In this case, everyone of the regulars know him. Oh, another level 0 account that doesn't own the game and uses the same language, responding in the same threads.

And the real problem is that nobody can call him out, nobody is allowed to say "don't feed the troll" or explain the history of him, because they get banned (ya know, having more than 1 account means you can report someone multiple times...). That's the real crime here. Abusing the system and the LACK of context moderators have.
They don't know the story and the fact that he spammed the forums for like 2 years. No kidding. It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane and I'm just baffled

That's literally NOT the definition of a troll.

I know, the definition got muddied over time, but come on.

If mods are banning them as they create new accounts to troll, then they're not being enabled. Further, if their accounts are banned, then they cannot report anyone with them. Lastly, report spam does not result in action being taken, only 'correct' reports will. So if users are being reported for their own rule breaking, then action will be taken on them as well.

The best advice to be given is to report them, block them and then move on. Engaging will only risk you getting riled up and then banned.
