weird question, vac just scans your computer for active cheats and bans you if it detects it.
it has nothing to do with google or devices, it only bans the account if it detects cheats.

and I don't know what you tried to link, but seeing how the system automatically removed it means its not safe.

No.

Limited accounts can't post most links.

aah, interesting. I never really noticed the whole limited account thing myself since I immediately bought a game.

Their names also do not parse on the forums unless a non-limited user quotes them.

Fascinating, learn something new every day.
Yeah. If a link is a YT video, it remains a link and does not embed on the forums. Same goes for any Steam UGC links that embed.

But for "most" links not Steam and not YT, they're removed/hidden until quoted by a non-limited account.

I leaned this today too!
The profile name not parsing on the forums for limited accounts was added back in January 2023.

That explains a lot, and here I thought they were all not parsing because it showed scam urls or something.

Limited accounts in the past were used to spam scam links, sure. That's part of the reason why.

You can always quote a removed link to see what it really is.

VAC bans aren't viruses. There's only two things that'll trigger a VAC ban. The first is playing on a VAC-secured server from a computer with known (to VAC) cheats on it. The second is having your account linked to another account (via phone number or library sharing) that was caught cheating.

If you don't do either of those two things you're not getting a VAC ban.
