Can you potentially get banned for using Windows 10/11 LTSC
I'm very protective of my steam account, to the point that I'm paranoid and I avoid small matters that might trigger a false VAC.

I am in a position where I might have to switch to Windows 10 LTSC (long story, Linux not an option) and I'm worrying that this (as far as I know, unauthorized) OS might trigger a false.

I know it probably won't, but I can't help but overthink it.

Anyone here play VAC games on an LTSC? I only play Dota, if that matters.

Thanks.

For this reason you will not get banned. But why worry and fear if Windows licenses can be purchased legally for 15-25 euros? If something is that important, it is not a large sum of money.

No.

:steamfacepalm:

VAC detects known cheats.......

Im playing on a Windows 7 system using the official steam client from before EOL, i doubt your operating system will cause a ban,
I played CS2 on Windows 11 LTSC, and it works fine. I highly doubt LTSC triggers a VAC ban.
No, you won’t get banned just for using Windows 10/11 LTSC. VAC doesn’t care what edition of Windows you’re running — it only checks for cheats or software that interferes with the game process.

There are plenty of people who run LTSC (or even older versions of Windows) and play VAC-protected games like CS2, Dota, TF2, etc. without any issues. The “unauthorized” part of LTSC just means Microsoft doesn’t market it to consumers, but it’s still legit Windows with the same security updates.

As long as you’re not running cheat software or shady third-party tools that hook into the game, you’re safe. Switching to LTSC won’t trigger a false ban.
Basic answer, vacbans are given for cheating/cheating software/skinchangers and gamebans are given for one of a few things aka breaking the rules. Using a older version of windows or any other version or platform operating system, won't result in a ban.
