map textures not getting imported with the map
hi im trying to import de_nuke into blender to add rain and change lighting to nightime for an edit, but when I import it it's missing the textures, it has the blender weird purple and grey colors even the basic layout, same in eeve and cycles viewport.

Im using latest version of blender, i saw a youtube tutorial that used blender 3.6 lts so I tried it too but same problem. I'm importing the map as vpk and then loading entities with sourceIO plugin

you need to use GCFscape to open the vpk file containing the hl textures. Each texture is a VTF in the vpk, so you also need to convert the VTF to PNG, TGA or JPG, and then put it all in blender. Also you need to know that if you also imported props from map, the textures will lie on the props fine, but on brushes it will be quite problematic to normalize the textures.

I can only find vmdlc files, i used both gcfscape and source2viewer, crowbar can't covert these files into pngs, maybe those aren't the textures?

here are the folders inside the de_nuke.vpk:
cubemaps, detailsystem, entities, lightmaps, worldnodes.

you dont need crowbar to convert it to png, you need VTFedit and there are two types of texture files in hl, VTF and VMT. VTF is texture itself, VMT is the script of this texture. all you have to do is open VPK hl2_tesxture_dir.vpk (it contains VTF textures in materials folder) and open them in VTFedit. After doing all of this you can now just export them as PNG files and thats it

Thanks a lot for your help<3 do you know if I can import the map to blender with the textures already assigned to the walls and so on? or do I have to assign them manually?
