You should update to the latest Crowbar (0.74), which fixes the problem.

Please help me solve this qc error
The HL SDK model compiler does not allow $texrendermode.

To compile the $texrendermode, you will need a more modern model compiler, as found in Sven Co-op (free mod).

NOTE about Sven Co-op's model compiler from experienced modder, The303:
The current Sven studiomdl.exe in the SDK while it does have the fine mesh detail vert fix, there is a bug that sometimes may be a problem with Cboxes. To check this, simply load the model into hammer and see the yellow lines box. If its expected you are good but if its sideways/wayoff the mesh, you may have issues with props visibility culling in visleaves. If manual $cbox command wont work if you get an issue you can use the older sven studiomdl: http://the303.org/backups/sven_studiomdl_2019.rar
