I always get caught forgetting to mention the localization / language files. Feel free to check and update our language files located in /hl2ctf/resource/hl2ctf_[LANGUAGE].txt files.

Depending on how long ago you first installed and ran HL2CTF 2.1, the Steampipe update changed a few things which you should address.

Even if the game automatically downloaded the Source SDK, go to STEAM -> LIBRARY -> TOOLS and make sure you have the Source SDK and the Source SDK Base 2006.

Additionally, you can right-click on both of the SDK packages and select PROPERTIES then select to verify the integrity of the SDK packages.

If that does not fix the engine error then it's possible that you have a corrupt installation. If you used the HL2CTF 2.1 EXE installer then run the uninstaller. If you extracted the zip (with folders) to your /sourcemods folder then you need to delete the /hl2ctf folder from the /sourcemods folder and either use the EXE installer to reinstall or carefully extract the ZIP (with folders) into your /sourcemods folder.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods

Shutdown Steam and Reload Steam.

Thank you the consideration but we have never taken donations for the development of HL2CTF. We have considered doing so in the past but our (now) very small team needs more interested developers to move forward. This year has been very difficult but we do have plans to continue development in February.

Check your LIBRARY -> TOOLS for Source SDK and Source SDK Base 2006. Then, right-click the SDK and select Properties and select the LOCAL FILES tab then VERIFY INTEGRITY just to be sure.

If there's anything good I can say, it would be that we never truly give up. It has been good to see interest in the game continue as we slowly make progress on the new port.

After the porting project died off in July 2015, it's been tough to get development going again. There has been some progress on yet another port (based off the first port) over the last 3 months but there is still a long road ahead of us.

We would like to have new playtesting by the end of May. If that happens we will definitely begin posting updates and news of the playtest results. i.e. The first marker for estimating when we might be able to push the mod to the Steam store.

Currently 3 online. U.S. East, France & Germany.

Sacrifist is updating the older maps which we never got the source. A new server will be going up that will download the updated versions of the older maps.

Thanks, that will help. Without the "weird xmas hack news" it was possible that I might have not logged into Steam for 6 months or more, but due to the news today I'm catching up.

Appreciate the post and I will check our application form to see if anyone else has considered helping out. We have everything "in stasis" via our repository so as soon as someone is willing to get serious about development, we can start right where we left off with the port & the Steamworks setup we have...
