HL2 Beta thread
A less memey thread for a change, just to mix it up. What's your opinion on the Half Life 2 Beta stuff? Do you like it? Do you hate it? Do you not care? Do you think that everyone who likes it should kill themselves? Also this might as well be a general HL2Beta thread unless someone feels like making another Beta thread (or no one here actually gives a ♥♥♥♥ about/likes beta)

I think it's pretty neat, i like the heavy atmosphere, the style of a lot of the models/textures, and a lot of the cut stuff (especialy the OICW, the combine guard and the cremator) were pretty cool, and some of the cut levels (especialy the air exchange and the version of the citadel that used tiles, both the actual levels and the background prop) were pretty cool.

HL2 beta is pretty cool, its pretty creepy and i like me some horror stuff, the weapons are great and the story is very nice, eli maxwell is a great character design

basicaly anything from pre-release versions/concepts of half life (so technicaly not actually beta, just what everyone calls it)

yeah, eli's design was pretty based
also that reminds me how much alien fauna got cut, shame cuz i feel like bullsquids and hound-eyes would've worked pretty well in route canal (tho at the same time it might've been kinda hard to use em in later levels i guess)

Since it's Valve-made, I have decided to care. I never actually played any Half-Life games, so please enlighten me. What's the difference between HL2 Beta and the actual HL2?
