A Modern Empire

Hello,

The historical time period for the Holy Roman Empire was 962–1806. Now for those of you who have looked over the Empire's Information, you may have noticed that the year is set in 1867. This brings the Empire into an era in which it never saw. There are two reasons for this:

• Most large and active RP groups are now Roleplaying in 1867. This will allow for us to have interactions with more than just the medieveal groups.
  
• The Holy Roman Empire consolidates a lot of land under one leader which makes Roleplay easier, being there is one group to fill, rather than five or six.

The Empire will function as it did when it first started, with large groups of nobles, religious figures, and localities. The Electors of the Empire will continue to cast votes for their choice on who should be the Emperor-Elect. The Imperial Diet will still function as a Parliament of sorts. All of this will be written out in greater detail once the Constitution is finished.

The last ruling Holy Roman Emperor historically was Francis II of Austria. He was apart of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, the ruling family of Austria up to its collapase in 1918. That being said, they will remain the ruling family of the Holy Roman Empire in this group. That also means that the Capitol will be placed in Vienna perminently. Historically, there was no Capitol of the Empire, but for RP reasons, it will be placed in Vienna.
