Chilla's Art game "The Convenience Store" film adaptation

A live-action adaptation of Chilla Art's psychological horror game The Convenience Store | 夜勤事件 gets its premiere in Japanese movie theatres on the 20th February 2026.

It is about a young woman working nights at a convenience store, and is directed by Jiro Nagae, starring Kotona Minami.

What will this film be like? The original game was mostly atmospheric; an uncanny experience that built tension over several in-game nights, with very little dialogue, and was only around 40 mins long (according to the game's listing on Steam). This film however, runs to 83 minutes, so maybe it is all more fleshed out.
