Steam Workshop Change Notes limit issue.
I can't add my changelog in the Steam Workshop Change Notes. There seems to be a limit for how much you are allowed to write. I think my changelog is too big, I tried to copy-paste it here aswell so you could see the changelog but it's just giving an error. My changelog has 52221 letters with space bar counted (42865 letters without space bar counted) which I am trying to copy-paste into the Change Notes in the Steam Workshop but it's not working.

I'm getting the same issue with only 558 letters. A 160 letter changelog works though.

It also only allows to add log entries for the initial upload, not for updates, on my campaign.

The limit used to be 256 characters (an oversight), but we've since increased it to 8000 characters.

Is 8000 characters the maximum amount for all updates ever made for a specific item, or is it just for each specific update, or is it the maximum amount for all Steam Workshop items that the person uploaded combined?

It's the max per change note.

Ok, so I can't put everything in 1 change note, but I only have 2 change notes which is still not enough. What about being able to manually create more change notes without actually updating/uploading a new version of an item in the Steam Workshop? It would also be nice to be able to manually change the date for when a version was created.

Thanks for the feedback. We'll add that to the list of things to consider.

It's currently much better to write changelogs in the "Discussions" section of an item in the Steam Workshop. I finally added all my changelogs to my Steam Workshop item but in the "Discussions" section: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/discussions/121068229
There is a limit in the "Discussions" section aswell, but you can just create more comments which solves the problem. You can also just make the thread "pinned" and lock it to make it more reliable, more professional.
