... a phrase uttered by my imam this Friday that shook me to the core!

Assalam Alikom brothers and sisters,

Ten days have already passed from this Ramadan, that's one third of the month! Some have already been freed from hell fire, and some are expecting to reach the last ten days or even the night of power to start repenting and doing righteous deeds

Brothers and sisters, so many Muslims have passed away before reaching this Ramadan and others have not even made it to the fifth day and that's why we have to assume and act like this is our last Ramadan

Let’s renew our intentions, reflect on our goals, assess our progress, and strengthen our determination to do good in the coming ten days of Ramadan, since none of us is guaranteed to reach the final ten. Let us strive to earn the blessing of being among those freed from the fire before the last ten days arrive

May Allah bless us throughout this Ramadan and grant us the opportunity to experience many more Ramadans in the future, Ameen.

Assalaamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh.

May Allah be glorified for reaching us to another Ramadan, this blessed month filled with prayers, month better than a thousand, month of when the Gates of Paradise are wide open, month of when the Gates of Hell are shut and the devils hung. We praise Allah Almighty and pray to him for our brethren who couldn't reach this Beautiful Month.

This Month of Ramadan, is a Month of Opportunity, where we are instructed to fast till the end of it, and adviced to enjoin increase in truth, justice, prayer and our relationships with our brothers, and kinship more than ever.

How can we take the Opportunity of this Month of Ramadan?

Spend more time in Mosques🕌
Pray long Night Prayers, Taraweeh🌌
Enjoin and indulge in good deeds while Fasting👳
Take every Suhur, as there is a blessing in it🌄
Read Qur'an every day and learn📝📖
Improve relationships with brothers and kinship💌❤️
Increase in making du'a and dhikr🤲📈
Apply sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ to your actions during and breaking fasts🫘
Prepare yourself for the Night of Decree🌘🗓️
And stay away from any kinds of sins as they are doubled.🔥‼️

Allāh ﷻ said:

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱسۡتَجِيبُواْ لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمۡ لِمَا يُحۡيِيكُمۡۖ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَيۡنَ ٱلۡمَرۡءِ وَقَلۡبِهِۦ وَأَنَّهُۥٓ إِلَيۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ

O you who believe! Answer Allah (by obeying Him) and (His) Messenger when he (SAW) calls you to that which will give you life, and know that Allah comes in between a person and his heart (i.e. He prevents an evil person to decide anything). And verily to Him you shall (all) be gathered.
