Plan on Learning SFM tips/suggestions?
Hello, I know I'm going to sound extremely ignorant and I can't really come up with the proper word for it but basically planning on what I'm doing when people have been doing this at lot longer then I have and who may look down on someone brand new trying this. (I don't really know how to word that thought honestly lol).

Anyways back on topic basically as the title says I'm looking into getting very involved with SFM and I was wondering if the veterans here had any suggestions or tips when it came to work process, animation, lighting, where to find music etc. I'm really wanting to focus on extremely well done animation and building around that (life like facial expressions and fluid body movement), to create some really high class shorts/films. As I said before I was setting my goals extremely high. What I'm wanting to be able to accomplish in the end run would be comparable to stuff like this

Home Runner - Murraythis

End Of The Line - James McVinnie

Boulder Heavy - Murraythis
Again I know this is extremely high goal setting but I'm really wanting to dedicate myself to mastering SFM since I've been burning out on playing TF2.

Do you have any experience with animating or you just want to start?

Just starting out basically starting from the ground up.

Those videos were by experienced animators with a lot of practice under their belt.

Coming into things fresh, I'd say you should watch Valve's tutorials, Jimer Lins' Tips of the Day, Zachariah's tutorials and basically practice a lot.

If you are into reading, then Animators survival kit is really awesome book. It explains a lot of things like how animation really work and terms used by animator. It also has a lot of explanation on things like how to add weight to something or make it look cartoonish. Otherwise if you dont like books then i would recomend those guys that mr. above me recommended.

Alright thanks I'll check out the channels and see if the local library/book store has that book.
