Thats what happens most of the time when you export a video file, you have to export as a png image sequence and use virtualdub to make it into a video.

I've never had any trouble exporting as MP4, the only times I've had any kind of problem was back before they had decent codecs installed.

What export settings are you using? It sort of looks like a bad codec.

I export as a pfm image sequence for 32 bit workflow, but png should work fine for you. It's never best to have SFM compress a movie itself, and is always best to export as either a lossless avi or png sequence.

Also I have quicktime installed but it will only let me export as AVI.

The export settings im using is:
Format: AVI Yes audio.
Resolution: 1280 - 720 - 720p
Duration: Sequence - 0.000 - 57.433 - Seconds

What do I do after I export it into PNG? Since its in image there is no sound anymore

You can export a png sequence with a seperate WAV audio file, use virtualdub to make the images into a video then bring that and the audio into I guess Windows Live Movie Maker if you don't have a video editor.

I exported it but now in windows movie maker the sound isnt matching up with the video. Ive tied all day but I dont know how to get it to match up.

Just drag it to the beginning and it should work, if it doesn't then find out if you can import sound into Virtualdub.

i tried that but for some reason the actual video is not much longer then the sound. maybe the virtualdub changed the fps? The video does seem slower. how can i change the fps in VD? By the way thank you for all your help

^this. I had the same problem as the OP, but only with avi, MP4 should work. however, youtube doesn't seem to accept MP4, at least for me ;__;

MP4 is actually the native formate YT supports, and don't worry about the audio being just slightly longer, in VD goto video/framerate and change the fps to the one you exported from SFM which is presumeably 24.

MP4 doesnt seem to be an option for me for some reason. But I finnaly managed to get it right! thanks for the help
I never got this before and I always use the same render settings, yet recently this happens to me every time.It happened to a movie that I spent 2 days on and the video did this at the start, the scenes lagged at times, scenes were out of order and some were missing all together.Help me,this is stopping me from making movies and I'm only starting to understand how to animate properly,I really don't want to lose all my progress!!!I watched a movie I made where this happens and it only put the end scene or 2 at the start and messed it up like this, all the rest is...acceptable

Is the lag present in the final export? What format is it? If it's avi than that's normal.

render 1 minute at a time usually works for me :steamwings:
