You no longer are required to manually import the files from your Portal 2 game to SFM. Portal 1/2 assets are now available for free as DLC, which can be accessed by right clicking on SFM in your Steam Library and clicking on properties. You'll find a number of DLC packs under the DLC tab.

After installing, simply load up SFM and the assets will be there.

Go for it, man. Who doesn't love being scared to death by children's animatronics? :D

wat other soultions do u mean? If the solutions have to do with the particle system then it wont work. and dont know much about the particle system anyways... (i just tried changing all the values and seeing if it would do something.)

Well, I suppose my usefulness has come to an end. I can't experiment with particle editor values because, as I said before, I'm using a terrible laptop and SFM WILL NOT run on it, and unfortunately can't help you *that* much anymore until I get back to the states.

Yes i know about that so i dont know much of the editor there but i did try changing many of the settings but no change... and it will not loop. maybe u can tell me which one allows it to loop?

Try working with the emitters, I believe.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by instancing them, and nor can I try it out on my own because I'm on a craptop, but have you tried this before with success? And with what particles?

You'll find the Kinect, despite being rudimentary at best, an efficient tool for motion capturing actual body movements. Unfortunately, it can't capture facial movements (to my knowledge), and even then it may be completely botched when applied to a model in SFM. I haven't found a way to pioneer into facial mocap for the program, but there's a good amount of information for motion capture in general for the SFM.

This is a rather weird predicament I've run into as well. I'd spent hours upon hours trying to solve this by tweaking variables around in the particle editor. I've referred to my fellow animators and friends in the OSFM chat, and unfortunately, as far as I as an individual know: you can't.

There may be a workaround and I may just be a complete idiot despite my efforts, but you'll have to spawn in a separate instance of said particle for each muzzle flare.

I disagree. There are many variables to refer to here. What type of zombie apocalypse are these characters going through? In L4D lore, there aren't any zombies at all, they're merely infected/mutated individuals from an airborne virus spread from person to person (this being the reason for why the chopper pilot always dies in-game, as YOU infect him). In TLOU, infected individuals are rudimentarily kept away by the military forces, as they've disbanded the government to take control of the situation.

Bandit groups, lone wolves, the classic "closely-knit survivor group", and other such organizations can come of it.

Heck, even cannibals. People can certainly change in life/death situations.
