The game engine used for Evening Surprise (Ren'Py) has a long history of false positives with antivirus programs. I don't know enough about the technicalities to understand why some Ren'Py games cause problems and others don't.

I don't blame you for being cautious, but I doubt there's anything malicious going on in this case.

Even as a joke, how can one possibly call this game the best fidget spinner simulator in a world where at least two fidget spinner dating sims exist??

In all seriousness, though, I think this particular case might fall under stupidity rather than malice. The award names are obviously fake, and right-clicking the image and opening it in a new tab shows it at full size, it's not hidden under a different file name or anything. It's plausible the dev didn't realize the image would be too small for the joke to come across and just never bothered to check. That said, I still flagged it, because even a genuine mistake ought to be fixed, and also fuck these games.

I get not wanting to stop good games from getting through, but if Valve just did the most cursory screening for whether a game actually runs and displays a passable knowledge of English grammar, they could block 90% of trash games and still let potentially good games through. At this point it seems like a pretty weak excuse.
