New content ideas for SW Mini trains
To #1:
I will try to make a turntable and we will see how well it works in the process. :steamthumbsup:

To #2:
That was luck that you had a good axle distance for the SW sliders, so the minitrain didn't derail. But what I meant was, that longer trains need to be more flexible in terms of physical interactions with the railway. The slopes are designed for the train and wagons sizes I mentioned earlier. Creating a longer train with a bigger physical body could not drive perfect on this steep slope.

We would risk losing contact to the rail or tipping over because of the incline. Sure on ground level or the longest slopes, there will be no problems. But I must be careful so everything still works with everything.

The SW sliders are the striped colored props on the train. All the debug infos on the following screenshot can be seen via console command: developer 2
"developer 0" will disable it again, if you want to try it for yourself.

It is already losing contact with the railway.

And with the planned tighter turns I also need more flexibility. I think that will be too much. BUT reworking existing models so they keep the size and add a coal tender is possible and I will consider it. But longer trains is not an option for now.

To #5:
I wait until your post for the production lines and will decide on that.



To add all of this from your suggestion will be a big load of work for me, to be honest. So I can't handle it as a simple update, more like a big extension that will need much time to create.

That's also the reason why I decide these things so exactly. There are a lot of other suggestions and other future updates planned, so that I already have content to work on for almost a whole year.

Glad you like the minitrains! The last big update took a very long time and your suggestion will also be complex and will take much time. But I like some of the ideas.

To #1:
Turntables as spawnable entities are possible for me since the release of the Wuppertal Suspension Train. I'm not sure if it is possible for me to make it that small, but I'm willing to try it. For the X intersections I can only try to create one, but should be possible. Even more smaller curves? I could try to make 1-2 sizes smaller, but I need to test the stability.

No tunnel segments. I don't see any advantage from that beside the mapping aspect which can be done with brushwork.

To #2:
Only the 07 diesel shunter looks possible but it is too similar with my existing mini diesel. And all the others are too big for my minitrain system. It's not impossible to make them but I will stick to the size template that all minitrains have. You have noticed already that all trains / wagons have the same size. That size is not supposed to be exceeded.

To #3:
Could you explain why I should add that Recovery Derrick Crane to the addon? The minitrains can't lose their load to pick it up and if a train derails, most people use the physgun or respawn it. Are you willing to use a mini crane to rerail your train? I'm not against it, but I would like to hear more about its applications first.

To #4:
Yes, I can add that in the future.

To #5:
Nice ideas but I would like it if you think more about it. Look in my minitrain guide and look at all the production lines from source to end product. Balancing is important, even if it is only in sandbox. So it should not be too short nor too long.

Give me an example of the production line that you have in mind, like the originals.
Original example:
Source: Coal -> Production: Steel -> End consumer: City
Source: Wood -> Production: Paper -> Production: Reading Goods -> End consumer: City

The end consumer must not be always the city, keep that in mind. :steamthumbsup:
