Competitive ACE team

The all new ACE product initiative from Omnes Ad Unum ACE club is a simple program to help me express what I want you to focus on as a member of our group. The initiative stresses two important skills (This is centered around forwards, goalies can still learn this but it doesn't matter): Juking, and understanding/being able to execute the Omnes Ad Unum Defense.

Juking: Juking should be a massive focus for any player on our team. I don't want you to stop passing or using ultimates or other skills, but it is extremely neccessary you conciously make a point of learning to juke. In case anyone is wondering, Juking is one of the two skills in this initiative because of multiple reasons. Primarily, its an extremely important skill to have in retaining possesion of the puck and scoring. Also, while passing and ultimates rely on chemistry or luck, Juking will stick with you whatever team you play for and whoever you play with. Overall, its extremely important to learn and apply this skill at every chance you get. I want our members to be the best in the league at getting past enemy forwards and goalies alike.

Defense: Any time a shot is taken on a goalie, a forward has messed up. This is being really harsh and extreme, but it has some truth in it. I want as few as possible chances for the enemy to score. Essentially, The Omnes Ad Unum defensive method is a hybrid man/zone combo. One teamate plays man coverage on the enemy with the puck holder, like shown here:

Notice how the forward shown stays in front of the enemy with the ball to stop any shots. This forward should try and pretend he is the goalie and make sure he leaves no openings, and doesn't allow the enemy past him. A general idea is to push the enemy with the puck away from the inside and towards the wall, meaning the forward should be slightly inside, so as to make sure the enemy can't go straight up the middle.

Meanwhile, the other forward plays a zone coverage in the middle, paying very close attention to the off-ball enemy so as not to allow a pass through the middle and allow a quick shot off of a pass. Like so:

Notice how the forward shown is in the passing lane of the puck and the off-ball enemy? He should make sure to intercept any passes that come through and have air tight coverage so that the goalie does not have to worry about the other forward. If the teamate forward on the puck gets beaten by the enemy, The other forward blocking the passing lane SHOULD remain where he is. This is crucial, because I would take a 1v1 as a goalie anyday over an easy pass through the slot, catching me (or any goalie) out of position.
