Those Who do Not Learn their History are Doomed to Repeat It

In four years of bloodshed and anguish the Great War had many names, only one of which was untruthful "The War to End all Wars" This phrase coined by Science Fiction writer Herbert G. Wells was used to describe a war he believed could become ferocious and cruel enough to wipe out mankind. Through those four bloody years millions of people worldwide fought and died on battlefields looking like they were brought from the mind of Dante. Each year the war become even more cruel with new and frightening ways to eliminate your fellow man. The war ended not by victory but by a mutual agreement to stop the fighting...however the fighting did not end with the Great War, it just began with knowledge of how to exterminate on a mechanical scale millions more have been killed and history has repeated itself time and time again. I know that this group will not prevent war but my goal here is to bring the bloody Great War to the foreground in the manner in which it was fought and by observing the anniversaries of the great offensives within the war. We will both learn and teach of the war through reenactments involving actual units, actual events, weapons, tactics and names. Lest WE Forget

A Newsletter (With a Wee bit of Bad News)

As some of you may be aware this group is now amalgamating with x64 and as such will no longer host independent events. This decison came about prior to Monday's Battle of Loos scenario of which I was quite proud.

What I failed to inform our new Allies of is that roughly 4 weeks ago I had a stroke and have since scaled back my involvement in all groups considerably.

This evening I had a Transient Ischemic Attack after being harrassed by a member of the Verdun community,

out of respect for this player I will not reveal his/her name.

As much as the game means to me it will never be worth my life.

This newsletter serves as my resignation from this group in an administrative role. I may try to moderate the group when I can but we dont get much talk here so I will probably eventually leave the group.

my time with this group and the overall game of Verdun were fun yet quite stressful and I fear that stress among many others has sewn the seeds of my demise.

From this point forward Biggalloot, ironstorm, and Vali will be the heads of this group...if I remain it is simply as a figure head.

Edit- i will not be leaving the group but I will be scaling back my overall involvement.
