How this works:

Anyone who is not a member of this Steam community group, can still play on our game-servers (assuming they are not banned), but will not have access to various special in-game features.
Anyone who shows-up as a "Member" of this Steam community group, is automatically granted access to some special in-game features (various types of "voting", "3rd-person", etc.) in our game-servers.
Anyone who shows-up as an "Officer" of this Steam community group (with the gold/yellow star "⭐" next to their name here), is also automatically an "administrator" of most of our game-servers.

Further, I have restored administrator access to most current or former (and, in some cases ancient) administrators from these Steam community groups:

Weasels Lair
Freaks & Misfits (now retired)
Saphe.Space (now retired)

For those who are administrators themselves, and perhaps do not remember all the other administrators in-game player names (since they do tend to change over time, and this group has existed in some form for probably over a decade now), you can lookup-up some of their former common names in this thread: Admin Info: List of current administrators. BTW: Access to that thread is restricted to existing administrators only, since administrators may want to keep some of that information (former names) confidential.

Counter-Strike 2 server?

Now that easier server-side administrative mods/tools are now available for it, I have been tinkering-around again with setting up a Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) dedicated game-server.

But, I am nor sure if it is worth the effort, and resources to host it?

I am unsure how much folks here even play CS2?

I have lost touch with many former regulars, so I am not sure what games folks play often - beyond Fistful ofFrags for the most recent generation of group members, and Team Fortress 2 for the O.G.s.

If i get something setup for CS2, it will probably have features like this:

It will run a server-side modification system named Swiftly S2[github.com]. Think of this as the equivalent to SourceMod[www.sourcemod.net], but for the Source 2 game-engine.
Various plug-ins for Swiftly S2[github.com] ("map chooser", etc.).
Inclusion in our existing SourceBans[sourcebans.weaselslair.com] system.
Inclusion in our existing HLStats[hlstats.weaselslair.com] system.
Default map rotation will probably classic CS1-style maps.
Will probably call it something like "Boomer-Strike 2".

Stats / rankings are back!

Weasel's Lair has been without cross-server player statistics / ranking ever since GameMe.com went-offline some time circa 2024. We are glad to announce that since there has been an updated version of HLStats published, I have re-implemented HLStats (specificaly a recent fork of HLStatsX:CE). This is basically the system that was used before we switched to GameMe.com some years ago.

Donation methods:

Since somebody happened to ask today, we do have currently have two different donation methods available.

Donation method #1: NFO Servers

You can donate directly to the Weasel's Lair account at our hosting provider (NFO Servers). Although not the only expense involved in keeping Weasels Lair online, hosting is certainly the largest - at about US$40/month (or about US$480/year). This system allows for one-time donations of any amount.
