The crystarium is much more than just stats. Out of the 7 types of nodes, they're arguably the three least necessary.
- Role Level significantly boosts the potency of a role
- ATB Level makes action much faster, helping a lot
- Accessory slots allow for more flexibility and stat gains
- Abilities... I don't think I have to describe how vital abilities are.
I also find NCU pretty boring, with the lack of flexibility and options, and the absurd amounts of grinding, so when I had figured out how the crystarium works, I thought of making this mod.
I hope you enjoy it !
Once it gets approved (or not), I will gladly share my findings, so just a bit of patience until the end of September, alright ? :p
@NijiBashira I am VERY interested in learning how you accomplished this as I'm not necessarily interested in doing what you did, but more on modding the crystarium points gained when obtaining a node in general.
Another Question. has anyone beaten the game with this challenge that you know of?
As much as I'm happy to see there's interest in modding for this game, I'm still a bit iffy about sharing my findings (not in the best of mental states these days, and I'd want to present a clean explanation, which takes time I don't have, to make). Someday maybe I'll feel better about it, but for now, I can only ask for your forgiveness and your patience.
As for the challenge, the only one I know of who beat it is me. I managed to beat the story and the entire post-game, without getting Dark Matters or Trapezohedrons (which means no TIer 3 weapons and no +3000 HP accessories). I have a small playlist of videos for fights I found notable and interesting (although arguably some are missing).
I know of two people who reached Mahabara Tunnels, and of one other who beat Barthandelus 1.
I love the increased risk of dying for lower defenses. But I hate not being able to get more powerful. Would be awesome to see a 50% increase mod, where increases are worth half... or a "0% defense 100% attack" mod, where only defensive nodes are disabled, while attacking nodes are enabled.
@NijiBashira, what tool did you use to change the wdbs? Would love to try and adjust them for these things.
