Hey Krisan, in what order am I supposed to install your mods? I know Console Content first. But what about after that? I've tried Monster Mod>Glow begone>Leviathan's Tears>Apotamkin's Closet>Button Prompts.

But now ingame the Console Content outfits are constantly glowing all-white. And the Xbox buttons still arent colored.
no helpful advice? :(

That happens to me too, i would like to know a fix. It's odd because I played the game with Krisan's Mods last year and didn't have issues with the console outfits, I wonder what is failing now.

Just installing the console content mod brings this bug for me, I just launch the bat, it works with no errors, and in-game the models are non textured, white, glowing Hope and Lightning.

Ok I fixed it, you just have to revert to 1.0 before installing the patch, all is done through the .bat in the mod itself.

I would just like to note, that has been in the readme since this mod launched.

Important Notes:
- Reverting to 1.0 is required the first time you install this patch!
- In order to correctly revert to 1.0, you need to be using clean -unmodified- files!

Yeah, I thought it meant that if you were installing with the new method for the first time on top of some old modded files you had to revert them before.

Just a quick question, if reverting to 1.0 is required, why not make it mandatory and automatic ? I know you don't need to do it when you update the mod but the process is pretty fast so it wouldn't really be a problem having to do it every time, it would stop dumb people (like me), or non native english speakers (also like me) from running into this problem.

One last point, I installed the missing content, PS3 icons, monster glow begone and the rain fix and every mod worked, except for the rain fix, I managed to get it working by using the 1.0 files lying around in my HDD that use the old installation method, but installing it with the new method (v1.2) never worked, even though it returned no errors and I managed to install every other mod without any problem using the same exact method.

Anyway, nice work, you make the game way more enjoyable B)

A lot of thought went into the structure of the mods, and I wanted to keep everything as modular as possible. It's not automatic in part because it will 100% fail if any other mod is installed prior to using it, and other than the costumes it will still technically work without the reversion. (The weapons and accessories for example will still work.)

It was a sort of compromise to offer as much compatibility as possible. It's not totally ideal but honestly since the readme explains this I didn't think it would matter much. Ultimately this game wasn't designed for modding, so there's a lot of hoops to jump through to make anything work right at all. (And looking back I think it's pretty wild we got away with what we did. lol)

Thanks, that worked.

What happened to the link to the mod index?
Krisan Thyme 15 May, 2018 @ 2:17am
The mods I made were moved to my Patreon page. Still free to download, just in a different place. The guides weren't aging well and no one was upkeeping them anyway, plus people kept complaining about issues with download limits or broken links so.. consolidated my stuff to Patreon for the sake of everyones sanity.

Plus if it gets me the rare donation as well, I'll be happy. (I'm a poor ol' modder person, I'll take what I can get. lol)

I see, thanks. Well, your plan is working since I just became a Patron. :D

I love vanille, really wanna get this patch working. Monster glow begone as well cuz that's really annoying. The OP has done some really great work here, things squaresoft should of done to be honest.

Anyone know where I can find a good guide on how to get these mods to work?

Ok so i tried ONLY installing Console Content and Leviathan, these two work together in that order. I havent tried with other mods though.

Like Xbox Button Prompts mod just doesn't work no matter what i do.

I would like to add to the list of people having problems with the Xbox Button prompts. I just cannot get it to work, no matter if I start with the clean version of apply it after other patches. Just tested installing the playstation prompts with the same patch file: works fine.

I remember patching the game a few months back when I unfortunately didn't have time to play it after all so I just removed all the old files again... back then it worked flawlessly, I believe that was with the button prompt mod version 2.0.

So, did any of the people having the same problem figure out a solution yet? If not, is there a possibility to just have a download link for the 2.0 version again? Would really like to retry that one...

Sorry for not noticing the problem about the Xbox Button prompts before. The script for the PS3 buttons works normally, but the Xbox 360 script doesn't. Therefore, until Krisan patches the mod, I created a temporary workaround:

Yep. I tried both. But only the Playstation one works. The XBOX one still run as if it working but in-game it's not.

Oh, looks like the Xbox script is badly bugged. For a temporary workaround, open the bat file with a text editor (such as NotePad), and find the line that says:

copy .\mod\Misc\system.win32.ps3 .\mod\Data\gui\resident\system.win32.imgb

Change it to:

copy .\mod\Misc\system.win32.360 .\mod\Data\gui\resident\system.win32.imgb

Save the file, then run the .bat again, and choose option 1. It will perform the same patching operation as for PS3 prompts, but using the Xbox 360 prompts instead. I tried it, and it worked for me.

I'm mostly just asking out of curiosity, why must thou revert to 1.0 (Is it reverting the Mod or the game, that I was never 100% sure of) in order for it to work properly? Was there an issue that couldn't be properly fixed, or is it just because Square did something that broke a newer version but the older one still works?

Square literally removed content from the game, the Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, and I think the Style & Steel outfit as well. Reverting to 1.0 puts that content back into the game, and the mod is doing this, re-injecting the files back into their respective locations.

This is why we don't have Aerith's garb and equipment in Lightning Returns, because they took out the assets before the game was even released, so we don't have the original files to simply put back where they were. And taking the files from the console DLC and putting them in doesn't work either, because they coded it differently on PC.
