Memoria - Engine modifications
Yeah when I asked for this some months back random encounters hadn't been figured out yet, I did manage to remove the card and cheat icons and disable the cheats. But I used hades workshop for that and hades workshop isn't compatible with memoria. So I couldn't fix the font and even if I could fix the font the random battles still break the game.

As for the Fratley and Beatrix stuff, that is just something that would add to the game. I could imagine it would be cool if a person plays this game for the first time to randomly walk around and find Fratley in some remote mountain region and add him to the party and same thing with Beatrix. Might not be possible yet but it's not like it would in any way break the lore of the game if it was done right.

As I said main reason I come back to this some months later is because I stumbled upon Final Fantasy again and was reminded of this issue after being confronted by the person I gifted this game to. If I could figure out how to put a "vanilla" mod together maybe with a bit higher difficulty it would no doubt become the go to mod for every person that owns FFIX. Getting rid of all the shit and restore the game to it's original glory.

I'm not a modder and I don't have autism so this stuff is not something I would be able to do easily, in fact the time I would have to invest to learn any programming wouldn't be worth it. You seem to know how to create cutscenes and change the UI and all kinds of stuff. But the stuff you change is for the worse, you grab the original HUD theme and the font and turn everything into a mess and you seem excited about it despite having a dead thread in the forum.

You've said yourself you suffered from some condition, so that's probably why you struggle with figuring our what would be appropiate changes. I'm not going to bother you or try convince you to fix the broken pc port, but yeah would be nice if you would put your talents to good use and fix the port. But you seem hung up on 200 fps and various cheat codes or other stuff that nobody wants, you keep doing your thing. Hopefully any of the super programmers on here will figure something out eventually to fix the port.
It's not whining, you do realize this is a direct to port from the android version of the game right. It's designed for androids, you clearly seem to lack to appreciate the importance of not cluttering the screen with icons and stuff to let you know you can chat to this person or play cards with him/her.

What's next, an UI along the bottom of the screen so you don't have to hit a button to access the menu. The game or games were designed to not have icons clutter up the screen, to not break the illusion of the 3d figure walking through the world. I have actually already managed to remove the chat and card icons through the uhhh hades workshop program. But the encounter rate and the UI can't be fixed with hades workshop.

If you don't want a challenge that's fine, just turn off encounters and walk through the game without issue and read the dialouge. Might as well use the max level cheat, makes the game even easier for you. And increase the fps by 200 so you can speed through the game because you're clearly in a hurry. And omg I died at a boss, ahh nevermind it doesn't matter because it autosaves right before the boss for me so I can try again.

You want these things to be optional, that's fine, but the original game was designed this way as have all the final fantasy games to date. So I take it you think the original game is broken and that you know best of how to improve it. You probably would prefer to not have to walk around either, the character could walk by itself to wherever you're suppose to go and then why hit a button to scroll through the dialouge that is too hard and bothersome.

It's not only that I wish to replay this old game, I've also introduced it to some other guy and I think it would be sad for him to experience this game in it's current condition. You should think of what would be more enjoyable for a person who's playing this for the first time, to waltz through the game with max level cheats and 200fps or to experience the game as it was meant to be experienced with maybe a slightly higher difficulty.

The choice is obvious to me, restore the original feeling of the game and increase the difficulty a bit and it would be a perfect pc port.
