Hello! Today I'd like to bring up something that has just recently came to my full understanding; the skill difference made by a players mentality. A few days ago I played Counter-Strike for the first time since November. Although I have been practicing a little bit against bots to remember the spray patterns of my main weapons and to keep my accuracy, I was still left relatively unskilled for the first few minutes. It wasn't until I started to land those neat headshots and get some good sprays that I started to regain my confidence in my skill as a player. The more i played the more confident I got and as a result my shots became better and better. I started to land shots I've prevously been unable to do and it's because I had the mindset that I was still good at my game and I was still able to play it like I used to.

And while it may seem that I'm just using it as an excuse to say that I'm still good at the game, I want you to understand the importance of the players mentality. I've had the skill to do these shots the whole time, but I've had the mentality that I can't land them. If you have a negative mentality you're not gonna get anywhere, but being overconfident can be your true downfall. Knowing your capabilities, and your limits, is crucial to reach success. An issue I see far too much of, especially from my own side, is the lack of confidence in our team, that we don't believe we are capable of things that are actually easier than we think. I will continue to talk about mentality in a future update, but for now I hope this has been enough to show you the importance of the players mentality.

If you think you'll miss a shot then you're going to miss it. If you're confident you'll hit it, you'll do all you can to do just that.
