Phish Victims or Culprits is it common amongst most trading sites?
I am going to pot this out there since I am not sure if others have. Usually 5 times outta 10 give or take after I bump a trade post I get, http://puu.sh/9FRUg/54fccd8c8e.png , http://puu.sh/9FRW6/1adcb5d2cf.png .

I have been getting them multiple times a day since summer sale always after bumping an offer on TF2 outpost. I am know it has been common for the past 2 months. However I wonder how many others who actively bump their posts have also had this issue? TF2OP the only place I actively bump/post on and I only started getting those phish pm's when summer sale started. Is it common across all trading sites? Love Tf2OP tbh but this concerns me , they literallly pm me the split second I up a post. However not ever since post.

This is not a new issue, everyone gets these adds. The TF2OP staff can't really fix the issue because the bots just use outpost to get your steam id and and add you through that. Your best hope is to block all communication and report any bots to steam.

Yes this is common amongst all popular trading sites.

ah okay yea I have reported 20 people or so since the summer sale noting to steam I believe them to be victims since many accounts seemed quite regular to me.I hope this waters down after the sale ends. Thanks for responding.

I've blocked over 200 phishers, I don't think it's abnormal at all. I'm a premium member so I have my trades constantly bumped, lots of phishers add me but it depends. It used to be 10 to 20 a day, now it's only 5 :D

Just an idea of what to look out for, phishers usually have recurring profile images (1 person, multiple accounts), 0 pay-to-play games (CS-GO etc.) and have the most basic and obvious names. e.g. gfsdufhasdad or [unassigned]

It's one user who is constantly making new accounts to hook his bots up to so they can scrub TF2outpost and he can sell the stolen accounts' items on the market to buy new games instead of working like the rest of us. So far they all have really shitty usernames, non-valve photos, and of course private accounts. Check the account and if it's private DO NOT ACCEPT. Of course I accept anyway to see if it's legit, but 9 times out of ten I either see the user was banned a few minutes after I got the request for attempted phishing and/or scamming.
