Duped?
My max is lvl 1. I believe it to be clean, but someone has said it to be duped. I don;t know how to check if it's clean or not. http://backpack.tf/item/1283337570 thats my max. help is appreciated.

Its most likely someone trying to get you to sell it for less. I checked the firsrt person who owned the hat, and he has a very good rep on steam.

There was a mass-duping of Max Heads some time ago, and Valve wiped the history of all Max Heads, giving them new original IDs. Knowing the duping scandal affected mostly LV 1 and 7, most traders who deal with high tier items will either outright avoid or pay less for a LV 1 or 7 because of this. Technically, at some point in time any given LV 1 or 7 was probably duped at some point, but there is no way to know for absolute certain.

Many traders just assume that level 1 and 7 are duped, there is no direct way of knowing.

Very True. I outright refused a lvl 7 Max for 1.25 Pure because of that reason. If buying for myself with no intention of re trade or profit, then it wouldn't matter so much. Serious traders like myself and others stay away for the reason above explained by "Lava". ^^^ :misterx:
