I was just asking others who have been in that situation, you know expressing my feelings and all that to share if so inclined. This post has nothing to do with Why I was banned or if it was unjust, etc...
I am just asking others if they have been in this type of situation
eg: they were bothered in one way or another and did not report it, thinking themselves petty or the issue resolved, etc.. and in return got the short end of the stick.
Anyway, I deserved the ban! No denying it, I did curse and reply back rudely after several rude replies and thread spamming from said person.
In my opinion though, it would be nice if staff would punish both parties when a report is made and both are in the wrong. But instead only the reported gets a ban. But... that is my fault for not reporting him instead of reacting.
I know the outpost rules are meant to help the community as a whole, but I also know that outpost is not equiped to take up such an extreme task. When mods do finally get to a case, it seems that they do often miss important details of the situation. I would love to just browse outpost and flag every abusive comment, but I dont feel like im helping in the slightest.
To sum it up, unless outpost plans on a substantial increase in staffing, the community might as well be self policed. I guess im arguing for the right to confront sellers about the value of their items, the right to verbally defend myself, and to be honest, theres a reason we have explicit words... Theres a time and a place for everything, and with the mods stretched so thin it seems fair that the outpost rules should become less stringent.
Also, we do this on our free time as it is voluntary work. If you expect staff online 24/7 to address tickets within a minute they are submitted then you are expecting too much.
The last ticket you submitted took 4 days to be addressed.
Check your facts before badmouthing us.
The insult rule has been around for three years now, and if one thinks it is too strict to expect people to respect their peers then they can do their trading elsewhere.
http://outpost.gg/bsod/ht2yty.png - clearly both users deserve the same punishment...
If someone harasses/insults you, report them. Do NOT fight back, EVER. There are rules, and there are people to enforce these rules. If you attempt to fight back you will suffer the consequences.
