Prices of items on the site
It bothered me that there were no (global) prices for items listed on the site,
so I've written a userscript for getting prices from backpack.tf and inserting them in the page.
It is free to use and it can be found here: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/181196

Use it with greasemonkey (firefox) or tampermonkey (chrome):tradingcard:

edit: This isn't supposed to be a submission for a site feature, it's just a script anyone can use if they want...

There's a good reason why tf2op does not show prices.

Trade sites having listed guideline prices on them will only serve to eliminate some barter-ing that trading has and will be forcing prices on items to users.

Theres no official prices on items and sites that have pricelist only serve to give users a quick idea of item value for when they try to sell their items
Bp.tf's own warning on their pricelist
"Prices listed are suggested values only. Price may not always be accurate or updated"

Prices are constantly changing on items. So its better for users to figure out item values and use their own judgement and resources while trading then having something (that can be false) forced onto them.

It's not that you have to use this script, I made it just for myself and thought I'll do a favour to other users (who want this) and share this.
And in (most) trades on tf2outpost the price from backpack.tf is used as a guideline.

Just take the time to go to backpack.tf.. Jeez. If they put set prices on everything, people would only sell for higher prices. Its fine as it is.

Trading would be pretty boring if both parties had easy access to information.

One of the reasons why I prefer Outpost to Bazaar and Backpack.tf - the buyer doesn't have perfect knowledge about prices - thus in the case of strange weapons - you have the potential of making sales while charging full price for the strange parts.

I just prefer the extra couple of clicks to get the latest market prices on Trade.tf and know that I am getting a good deal - That's what makes Trading so much fun - for me anyway :)

Terminus, I've really been following you around today it seems. :)

And the prices shown on Bazaar.tf don't seem to hinder my trading. Even though it shows 2.33 Refined on the Strange Rocket Launchers I buy and sell, I've sold 8 for 3 Refined using buy now bots, the prices don't seem to be affected.

Hey Skad - was beginning to notice that too mate:) Anyway - Thanks for all the comments - Enjoyed reading them.

I found about the Buy Now Bots this week - was a bit skeptical initially - but has been pretty useful so far since I only play for a few hours on weekdays :) Anyway - back to the topic

When it comes to weapons with strange parts and painted items - I prefer Outpost as...........in short - HATE TO SAY THIS, BUT - it's easier to ''exploit'' a buyer who may just do a simple Google search and feel that the parts and paint should be valued at 100% or some users who have no idea at all and just pay much more for a ''cool'' colour or part :) The same case with some sellers - some of whom have no idea about how paint and parts affect their items and just use standard backpack prices.

As a student of ECONOMICS - The whole ''Market for Lemons'' and ''Asymmetric Information'' is what makes me love TF2 OUTPOST Trading and TF2 Trading in general (Read through my boring lecture - Thanks and hope you enjoyed it - or at least disagree so much that you want to further this conversation ) :)
