So who is right?
I sold Strange Blood Botkiller Knife Mk.I ( this trade: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9843980 ) to one person, but 5 minutes later he requested to return it back, because it has "gifted" tag.

I don't see it as a good reason and refused, and he call me scammer. I didn't post that it was not gifted. Why would tag make it less valuable, anyway?

Who is right and who is wrong? Will I have any problems on tf2outpost?

*EDIT* I refunded item back because don't want to be bad guy. this time I gonna write in trade that it's gifted and people may decide to trade for it or not.

But I still not agree that "gift" tag makes item less valuble and want to know community opinion.

It's your opinion vs the number of people who'd buy a gifted item full price. If I were to buy an item and I can pick between a clean one and a gifted one guess which one will I pick? Unlike duped items which have absolutely no visual difference other than the same original ID in the back end, gifted items have someone's ugly profile name stuck to them forever with no way to remove it.

If you ever wanna get rid of such an item, you'd have to knock down the price a bit and hope for the best.
you can always remove a gifted "ugly" name issue by turning it into a joke by gifting it to yourself from an idle account. I've seen say an el jefe gifted by che guevara for instance, yes it will cost you about a key ...but it can be done.

gifted text is right on the icon description popup of a trade. its his fault for not checking. refunds...generally its good to have a policy against them to stop people from wasting your time with indecision/test driving items/buyers regret/shopping around for a better price type nonsense. you aren't a store with a budget for handling returns after all.

If someone isn't happy with one of my trades I'll offer to revert it, as long as they contact me right after the trade (or the following day at most in case of certain items). But yeah, once you accept a trade it should be final so you need to make sure everything is right yourself. Mentioning that an item is gifted though should be something expected from your part before the trade. This is to avoid unhappy traders or situations like this where you're accused of scamming, otherwise people will just say you're dishonest.
As judged in a court of law, you did nothing wrong. You presented the item as it was with no deception, and the buyer bought it, "as is, where is" with no promised conditions. I admin in 17 trade servers and for 90% of all the people who cry "SCAMMER", it is their own fault for not looking up the item value or for not looking at the item itself very carefully. Trading originally was done when one person swapped one item for another and nothing was of any greater value than another...but then the "MANNCONOMY" came into being. Some items became more popular and others were labeled at worthless based on what the "popular opinion" was about some detail of the item in question. Once the facts are shown, I do not believe STEAM REP or anyone else would ever find fault in what you sold. I have done thousands of trades and a few people have come back to me to ask if I would reverse the trade...some even as much as few days later. In most cases I gave them back their items, but not because I felt guilty. I did it because of THEIR attitude and how they asked me. A few may not have realized the value or missed some detail of what they were trading for, but most were poor noobs who later decided that the item or hat they had to have at that moment was not as good as they thought it would be. They were honest with me and I either refunded them or traded them something different. For those one or two traders who got in my face and threatened me with bad rep, I reminded them it had been a fair trade and that bad rep was a two-way street. So far, in my 6800 hours of mostly trading, I have never regretted my decisions. For those I refunded, I thought no more about them until I ran in to them months later in another trade where they reminded me of who they were and how much they appreciated my kind gesture when they really needed it. You can make a lot of good long-term friends that way. My final word would be to judge each trade refund request based on the facts and also the attitude of the person. I wish you good luck on your trades. God bless. Bird
yea the problem is that rep has zero meaning.
people who are rude or even scammers leave the rep they do get from successful transactions on their profile, the rest get deleted. one guy can add a dozen people, trade one guy, get rep, ignore the rest and waste their time and still have a +rep. people buy rep with rep, its about the most pointless thing in tf2 trading. people need to stop this dance. only scammers use rep as a convincer about their reputation, because no one else in their right mind would give any credence to rep, so rep is only good as window dressing for scammers to better scam marks once you tink about it.

every serial killer would have pages of +rep if real life worked this way. buy a burger from mcdonalds and actually pay for it? +rep! omg what a fast trader! honest and kind too!

give me a break huh...
I agree with you. I have been playig tf2 for 5 years with 6800 hours and thousands of trades, but have nothing written on my "STEAM REP" page. I do have hundreds of positive comments on my profile page which personally means a lot to me, but could also be faked to a degree because I can easily weed out any negative coments. What I do highly value is that my good name is well known among traders and I can instantly get good references from numerous other gamers on just about any trade server I visit. "You can give your "word" to someone a thousand times, but you can lose your good name only once"...so I gaurd it well.
