I may be polite and what not, but that doesn't change the fact that I downright stole from a KID. I want to become a police officer when I hit 18, and this isn't exactly the sort of thing a proper one would do. I am the lowest of the low for possibly ruining this kid's trust in everyone on tf2op. I deserve to be punished and will not rest easy till I am.
Good luck! *salutes*
There can only be one punishment for a scammer, and that's a permanent ban.
1. Give you a TF2OP Caution on SteamRep that can be appealed here in 6 months, provided that you stay clean
2. Give you a 2 week ban on Outpost rather than a permanent one
I genuinely appreciate you coming forward and doing the right thing here. The main reason we ban scammers and have them marked on SteamRep is NOT to punish, but to prevent further scams. If you do indeed follow through and return the item, then I do not see you as a threat to either the Outpost community or the trading community as a whole and therefore do not think it is necessary to permanently ban you or mark you with a scammer tag.
Looking forward to seeing a screenshot of your inventory history when you've completed this. =)
I am happy you apologized, OP, but Ariadne, I'll throw in a fun scenario :
Hey, at least you got our respect. :P

Thank you. This is exactly what I was hoping for.
Killing someone =/= virtual hats
you goose you
I can see the connection.
Let me get this straight: I can scam someone at least once and wait to see if I get reported. If I don't, I have an unusual, if I do, I apologize, return the item and get away with a warning?
After all, his offer of amends came after he got reported.
I better pick a good hat for my first time to make it worthwhile.
