Thoughts?
EDIT: Can't seem to find it, probably fixed with the update.
I think it is good to have every trade you ever made an offer in, sorted chronologically at some place. That would be in line with "My Trades". Sometimes it helps to dig into your own past.
But a place / the means to organize the offers that I consider still active, would be great. But that does not have to imply that there has to be a not hidden post of me in that trade. Sometimes I offer, my offer gets hidden /by me or the owner) and then I want to follow up some time later to maybe make a better offer.
I would like to mark the trades in the "My Offers" list manually as done (unless they are closed). Because some trades go on for month without getting closed and they would constantly show in my offers list without me having any means to get rid of them from in between my active offers.
I did some experiments earlier on how that whole offers thing works now.
Now thinking about it, how about sorting offers you bookmark to the top and then have the rest as it is? I guess that would sort out most of my problems...
this is the list of my offers and as you can see i haven't made an offer on most of them. usually when my offer is hidden the offer goes away. i like it when it does that, otherwise i would just get myself all confused lol
But I guess only Sneeza can investigate this matter, should you be right.
If someone hid your offer you got a system message about that and the trade was removed from the My Offers page at once. That had the advantage that it didn't clutter up your My Offers page anymore but the disadvantage that if you want to keep this trade remembered that i had to keep all these system messages which grew up quite much over the time.
Now after the update i don't get a system message about the hiding of the post anymore but still the trade gets marked on the My Offers page until i view it and then it just stays there.
Now i have 7!!! pages of active trades on my My Offers page with 98% of these having all my offers hidden and i consider them inactive so this is VERY confusing to actually pick my active trades and check for new posts or maybe place another counter offer. So i really would appreciate if my trades with all offers hidden are somehow displayed differently, either they just show disabled like the closed ones or at least are moved behind all my active trades. Oh yes, the order of the trades on this page is also a little strange, they are not ordered after bump time but somehow differently, maybe ordered by the time i posted? Haven't figured that one out exactly yet.
And I agree, I should be able to mark the offers (hidden or not) that I consider active myself. Using the bookmark feature as I suggested above has it's disadvantages.
From a buyers point of view, trade owners see how many bookmarks their trade has and might think they need to hold on to their item until they see their bookmarks declining.
Of course that could be considered as an advantage the other way around. But you should not decide on that info (alone) anyway, rather by the frequency of offers and the offer itself.
Maybe a new feature to "mark" your offers active and sort those to the top in the "My Offers" list would be best. That "mark" could be auto enabled on all new offers and auto disabled on all closed trades.
* You have them neatly sorted at the top of the list
* Independent of your bookmarks, you can still bookmark those even though you don't consider them active to you (because you are curious and want to keep track, but not offer anymore)
* No one but you knows you are still interested in that trade
* Independent of notifications, so that you don't have to ignore them just to keep track
* No need for a message box that you need to go to the main page for and close
* You can change you mind at any time
* You still have a complete history of all the offers you (ever) made
* More that I can't think of right now
I will give this a shot and post this in the Suggestions category
