Is it against the rules to..
Is it against the rules to trade with my friend who was banned on outpost for attempting to quickswitch once in a trade? This is him http://www.tf2outpost.com/user/219309 and he's quickselling his voodoo joojoo with searing plasma for 4 buds. It's 1 of 1 but it seems decent. So would it be against the rules because I don't want to get marked or temp banned or even banned from outpost because of it.

Ok thank you very much. I will avoid it then. He is marked on steamrep for the quickswitch attempt.

I don't know if you can be banned or not, but I wouldn't trade with him if I were you, if he's a scammer it could be a hijacked/stolen juju for all you know, which can get you into massive trouble if you're seen with it

That's got nothing to do with it. Often the items were traded from a scammer but the scammer was not marked at the time the item was traded. There is a delay between a scam happening, it getting reported and then until the scammer is makred.
Also you need to be able to prove that he traded with the scammer, which is not always easy.

Obviously, also the whole admin team is part of a secret society plotting to take over the whole world and become the ultimate distributor of hats.

And let's be serious, do you check the Steamrep profile of everyone who you trade with? It's a good practice to do that when trading for high value items (unusuals, buds, new games etc), or a large amount of items at once but other than that...

The top line sounds a lot like the red and blue team being secret giant corperations that govern the Earth. Also I'm pretty sure Oupost stated that its a bannable offense to deal with scammers. I've seen people get warnings, probation banned and permabanned. So yeah I wouldn't do it either. But just saying you could have pretend you traded for it fairly and then sell it, maybe charge a smalle fee for risking you neck. I mean really there isn't a way to prove that entirely but still admins are still admins. Don't take this as a hint to help scammers. I'm simply pointing out you could have done just that.

I don't think anyone deserves to be tagged for buying a craft hat for 1.33 Ref from a scammer. Unless you are knowingly trading with a scammer. i.e. if someone is offering you "quicksells" for fairly cheap, that should ring a bell. Or if you're offered an unusual 50% off, that's just screaming something is wrong here. Sometimes I refuse to trade with a person if they offer me too much, fearing the items have been stolen or that they've purchased them illegaly. Either way, nobody has the time and energy to check everyone's Steamrep profile before trading but you always should do that when you're uncertain or something smells fishy.

Hmm, getting offered an unusual for 50% less is wrong? 80% of the trades buy these for 50% less...

Might be a sign that someone stole or sharked an unusual and is just trying to get rid of it fast. If you accept it, you're basically helping the scammer, that's why you get tagged if you trade with scammers.

I think he does not mean he got an offer to buy one for 50%. He just meant that in general. And just because "80% of the trades" announce they want to buy for 50% does not mean they are successful in doing so very often.

He asked if it's wrong to accept such a trade. Who in their right mind would quicksell an unusual for 50% off?
You only get cautioned if the trade was not obvious, such as 5 buds for a sunbeams bonk boy

Well technicalities would have it there is the slightest chance that a legitimate one would happen, but this argument is pointless. It's so tempting to deal with scammers, it's probably the most lucrative trade without scamming or spending tons of cash.
