Kindness Missing?
Has anybody noticed the condesending tones people are taking now since the rep system has changed? I am finding more and more people don't care enough to be polite due to the lack of reprecutions for arguing, swearing, and other things of that nature. Not being able to report people unless they actually write it on the post is a shame. The rep system kept some sort of a balance. They really need to think of an innovative idea to fill the gap to create a friendlier community.

I agree. I was added by someone looking to buy a key for a scrap less then what I asked. Obviously I said no thank you. Basically, he got very sarcastic and condescending and I tried to stay polite and explain by own motives. After removing him, what I really needed was some way give feedback on his trading attitude.

The thing is, even though the rep system is gone, leaving negative rep would get you banned for a period of time. (Happened to me) I agree, but people can just be mean since it's over the internet and there is no real way to do anything.

I'll just copy paste my opinion over from your closed thread:
No, I don't think there has been a change, there never actually "was" a repercussion for arguing (well, not recently anyway) since using the rep system to give negative comments was an offense punishable by banning.
Although general amiable behavior is important in any community, if people are being vitriolic, just make use of the block feature. We have it for a reason, I always say.

Champelliot, your feedback is appreciated. So is everyone elses. Thank you.

I understand that the whole rep system wasn't for negative rep but to leave a positive note on the profile. People leaving negative rep get banned for a short period if they did so. I get that.

I am sure they removed the rep system due to time constraints and the amount of actual time it took to monitor the reporting system behind it. At the same time, I think that despite the system did not work the way it was planned, it is a step forward for something that the community regarded as important. Maybe there should be a platform for some sort of negative rep for instances where people can leave a remark based on trading expirience. I have had many instances recently where the seller were asking for more than what was stated in the outpost offer. I am sure I am not the first person he did it to, and I won't be the last. There is nowhere to complain about this and similar shady behavior.

Your thoughts

I propose they add a note ability to the heart system. They can still keep it so it isn't rep, but give users the ability to add a reason. I had a lot of really nice things said about me in my rep. It's a shame they're gone.

Same here, I rocked 450 rep, all nice comments. Now they're just useless hearts...
