Suggestion: Fair banning rules assosciated with traders and scammers/alts
According to tf2 outpost rules, trading with scammers and scammer alts is forbidden, this is justified with the reason to counter the manifestation of scammers. However, I have many reasons why I and many others belive that those rules are easily circumventable or ineffefective by most scammers, unfair to both young and experienced traders and can backfire.

When a scammer is exiled from TF2OP, he simply creates an alt account and rejoins. Dedicated scammers are imposile to stop, armed with their alt accounts, they lurk in the shadows of newly bumped trades, ready to srike when they find an inexperieinced trader. They will continue to use that alt account to scam and send scammed valuables back to their main account until the alt becomes banned, from there on, they simply rinse and repeat. If they do not wish for their main account to be banned, they simply make numerous accounts, trading the scammed item account by account until it reaches his main which will remain clean, of course scammer mains will most likely get banned eventually, but he will simply shrug it off and do what I stated earlier.

As I have mentioned earlier, these rules are not only ineffective against scammers, but are also unfair to both young and inexperienced traders, here are two examples:

exapmle 1: a young trader is trying to sell a desireable unusual, a scammer really wanting that unusual, buys it from the trader legitimately. The trader is then hit in the face with a 2 week ban the next times he logs onto TF2OP

example 2: an experienced and extremely rich trader that is dealing numerout valuables simaltaniously, often selling and buying many a day. He recives a trade offer to purchase one of his valuables for sale, already preoccupied, he quickly agrees to the offer and resumes his previous task, another legitimate sale, but when he logs back into TF2OP, same situation from example one (unless he was the same trader, if so, he will become permabanned)

As seen in the examples, both young and experienced traders are prone to accidentaly or unknowingly sell to scammers (especially if it is a trade offer). Therefore I believe that it is unfair that a user can become banned for sell to a scammer as it is simply a legitimate trade. If a large scale trader were to check every trade he does, (including both buying and selling) it would be extremely time consuming, tedious and frustrating as they can get many offers and sales a day. I have seen many experienced and rich traders fall victim to this.

My final point is that the rules made to counter scammers can backfire. If a legitimate trader becomes marked as a scammer for trading with scammers, he may decide to go rogue and become a scammer since he is marked anyway. Often this can happen since all scammers began as normal players that were tempted, the ban/mark could be all it takes to give them a little push.

In a nutshell, the current rules assosciated with scammers and scammed items are unfair to legitimate traders, ineffective and can backfire, meaning that scammers often do as they please while trader are the ones who suffer for it. In my opinion, traders should be allowed to sell legitimately to scammers but the rule that prevents traders buying from scammers should be preserved.

The defense that it's difficult to check someone's reputation before trading with them is kind of silly when all you have to do is to copy paste their steam id on steamrep.com and check other sites by simply adding their steam id at the end of the profile link, e.g. http://www.tf2outpost.com/user/STEAM_ID_HERE or using the "trading" links on steamrep.com . It takes, at most, one minute to do that and there is rep.tf which makes this a lot easier.
