Suggested and discussed in the Suggestion Section many times. There seems to be no interest to solve the issue of abandoned trades whatsoever.

Try logging out and back in, try using a different browser (like firefox or chrome, esp. if you are using IE now), try disabling any outpost plugins, if you have any.

Mind that you have to press enter in the search box for the item list when trying to search for items or making new trades.

You got something mixed up. backpack.tf does not monitor any trading site. The prices are based entirely on community suggestions, for which you can give your vote. In the end it is a site mod that decides to accept or deny a suggestion, based on the evidence provided and on the votes to some degree.

The sites that automatically monitor trading sites are tf2finance.com for bud and key prices or trade.tf.

You should've written in those comment boxes that you are not marked on SR (and never were), that the ban must have been a mistake and you would like to get unbanned instead of spamming with useless comments. Likely the admin looking at those comments gets too many of those from real scammers and didn't bother to look if you actually were marked, as you didn't state any reason to get unbanned. Since your case is something that should not have happened and probably did not happen before, he had no reason to manually verify that your ban was correct in the first place.

Whatever the reason for your ban (it looks like a glitch), this is not the right place to ask to be unbanned.
As far as I know, you should have a link in your profile where you can appeal. If not, there is a sub-forum here for that.

^^ Exactly. Most of the time it's your own fault for not being online or paying attention after bumping / autobumping your trades.

Since there are so many autobumping trades that appear online or even in-game but do not respond for hours, I too sometimes spam-add donors while searching. But I hide my "offer" with the "added" note when my trade is done. Guess not everyone does that.

On the other side, one problem is, that Steam does not show me the popup when I have other applications in full screen. It's easy to miss an add.
