There is no way of telling if an item is not duped, only if it is. The only exception is when you are the original owner and know for a fact that your backpack has never been restored by Steam Support.

If some site does not detect your item as duped, that does not in turn mean that it is not duped. That common assumption is false.
And if that site detects a dupe, you always have to manually check if the item actually does still exist in the other backpack at the same time to confirm. So in effect, those sites do not help a lot.

For most items it does not matter at all. There are a few very rare exceptions though.

And of course the notoriously as duped alleged lvl 1 and 7 Max's. Although they are not duped more or less than any other Max's anymore, they still are a lot harder to sell for historical reasons and thus have a lower price. But today that has nothing to do with them being duped or not.

If someone does have proof that an item is duped, he's only trying to get you to lower your price. Just ignore him, most others won't care.

You can argue about the price in my trade all you like, I don't care. I am confident I did my research. And if I didn't, maybe that price comment may even help me (but against OP rules).

But the one thing that I would not want to see in my trade is someone claiming my item is duped. That can really hurt your trade as those that did not care before, all of a sudden become scared of your item, which in turn puts you at a significant disadvantage to your competitors.

Steam Guard must have been enabled for at least 15 days to be able to trade. So if you only enable Steam Guard now, you can trade in 15 days. Otherwise you have to wait another 12 if you already enabled it from the start.
At now point must you disable Steam Guard, not even briefly, as you have to start all over again - I know from experience!

There are already rules in place for extreme cases. They are troll trades and may be reported.
That no one wants to pay fair prices on OP is just not true at all. I dare say most trades happen at fair prices.
Of course the trades that sell / buy outside the range where most trades happen, tend to be the ones that are open forever and never get closed. That's why it appears that "most" trades are unfair.
The problem is, you (we all do) selectively perceive reality.

Try disabling any extensions you might be using. There were problems with the Toolbox in particular in the past. Also, if you are using Internet Explorer, try using Firefox or Chrome.

Well said. Love the touch of turning technicalities into a philosophical question. "Value" and "price" are also terms that may have a formal definition, but are used slightly differently (more relaxed) in everyday English, I guess.

It is a slang term, that gets widely used the way you describe it, granted. In fact that often, that you might be right all along.

But a classic low-ball is a selling technique, where you add to the costs in a more or less subtle way, not a buying technique (although in slang commonly used).
