You realize you have to be using TF2OP for your name to show up in the history of an item. If he's just a random kid who got tricked so easily, chances are he's not even a trader. It never hurts to get confirmation from both parties.

I think helen meant you should take a pic of the part where you actually scammed the hat as well. There's no mention who you stole the hat from and if it's the same person you gave it back to.

You might also want to PM his profile link to helen so she can confirm that everything you said is true and that you did indeed give the hat back to him.

Where did you see it's prohibited and why do you think it's a good idea to report people just because you feel like it? You're abusing the report system.

Actually, there's a bug that prevents posts that have been hidden by the OP be permanently hidden when the phisher is banned. Best thing to do is report the offending post and leave it open, comment if necessary to prevent others from clicking on it and wait for the user to be banned.

Only if you use a bazillion colors. Highlighting certain parts of your trade in a different color will direct their attention to what's important.

And if you take a look at the reason people post such comments, most of the time is because the trade is just a horrible deal vs newbies who're being smartiepants, screaming "spreadsheet" or just not having a clue of what's going on.

In the latter case you can just laugh at them and hide their comments. They won't do any harm to you or your trade. If they continue to pester you or they're being rude, feel free to report them. In the first case, which I bet is the nr1 reason why the reporting system is clogged, you have to reconsider what's wrong with your trade. Most people won't have an issue with you if your prices are ok.

I often see trades where the OP is threatening to report any unwanted comment, an offer that is different from the asked price etc. and nearly always their prices are ridiculous. They do this because they can, they think they're protected by moderators but in fact they're only causing more issues. It's this attitude that is infesting TF2OP that shouldn't have been allowed in the first place.

Want an open market, where you're free to set whatever price you want? Then let buyers have a say too, otherwise your "open" market is not that open anymore. I said it before and I'll say it again, if your trades are within reasonable bounds you will not have any issues with unwanted comments or selling/buying items, mark my words on that. I don't understand why everyone is so alarmed.

Sometimes pointing out the obvious would save the OPs time, and the thousands of other users searching for that particular item, with trades like that cluttering the results. Plus it warns others not the get sharked by greedy or just unexperienced traders.

You're comparing items that come in limited quantities (sometimes just one or 2 available on the market) with items with a huge supply. I'm not sure what point you were trying to make here, but it's invalidated by the previous fact. If it takes months for an item's market value to rise please do everyone a favor and keep it to yourself until then.

Oh and I don't condone bullying. I consider people who swear at users or trash talk their pricing just as bad as those who're high up their throne and shout that they'll report anyone who dare to point out their horrible offer.
