This has been discussed plenty of times before, feel free to search for the other threads. IMO a contributing factor to keys "rising" is the release of the Market. People in need of Steam Wallet suddenly realised their metal is worthless (can't be sold on the market), so they rushed to exchange it into keys. Obviously key traders could not have handled the sudden change in demand without "raising" the price of keys. It's a combination of that, metal devaluing as more and more people idle and the fact that keys hold a higher value on the market.

Now it will be interesting to see what will happen when metal becomes marketable. The current situation might stabilize and the price of keys will go back to where it was at ~3 ref. I'm just guessing of course, anything can happen.

This is not possible and I'm telling you out of experience. Out of tons of people that commented on my prices, I could only have a decent conversation with 2 of them. While they disagreed with my price at first, they listened to my reasoning and in the end I made them change their mind. I did not report them for that, even though it's against the rules (someone did though and their post was hidden). Every other comment I received was pure spam, filled with sarcasm, name calling and bashing mostly from 12 year olds or people who blindly follow price guides and don't know what they're talking about. The usual "LOL SCAMMER!! ITS 0.55 NOT 0.66", "Nice lowball it's 6 keys on spreadshit!!11" <- you're just forgetting the item is new and its price will drop 500% in the coming days etc.

If there's an error on my side, people offering a lot lower than I ask for or sitting on my item for 1-2 weeks without any offers should be enough of a warning. Ultimately it's my item and I shouldn't be forced to sell for a price I don't agree with. It's my call if I choose to be competitive and again it's my problem if I end up losing a customer who'll choose to go to the next store that offers the same item at a better price.

You are talking as if TF2Outpost was a market only for sellers, that they hold all the power and that they're driving the prices up because nobody can stop them. That's absolutely wrong and you're forgetting the fact that buyers can put up trades too hence influencing the price of an item. Is everyone selling an item for "x"? Well that seems to be overpriced and I'll put up a trade paying "x - 2" for it. I'm not the only one who thinks this way, so soon the sellers will have to give in and lower their price. No need to butt in on their trade and bash their pricing for that.

Any item that people sell, chances are you can buy cheaper if you create your own trade. That's what keeps things ballanced, buyers and sellers both have a say in it. Buyers will want to buy low and sellers will want to sell high, the real value of an item is somewhere in the middle.

Someone still has to go first and just like PayPal trades there's a big chance of scamming. Plus if you pay me $35, it means I'd only receive $30 due to fees.

If they mention the price is firm, or that they will sell at that price only then you might as well not offer at all. You're saving everyone's time, not only theirs but yours too.
