For your situation, you need to post a scam report in the proper section of the forums and you will be required to have proof of the scam happening.

Be sure to follow the format exactly and provide screenshots of your trade inventory and chatlog, among any other proof you may have.

After looking into the item, it seems to be a fairly rare find. Only four up on the Steam market for 100 USD+. It could be possible that nobody that owns one has been to Outpost with it.

If they are spamming and insulting you on the site, please report it so they can be dealt with. We do not deal with interactions over Steam chat, but if they are insulting and harassing you on the website, actions can be taken.

But as the others have said, block them on both Outpost and over Steam so they can no longer contact you.

If you don't want someone on your friends list, you have no obligation to keep them there.

There was no reason to put both up if you wanted only one to be for sale, and the third line on the trade included "I REALLY LOVE SHOWING THIS OFF". For all Blue Screen knows, you never intended to sell at all and was using the keeping one as a loophole to bypass the rules.

And the moderators deal with literally hundreds of reports coming in, it just isn't feasible to contact everyone personally to try to clarify and correct trades in that method.

I do believe it. I also don't want to dangle the fact that Outpost is large over people's heads as if there were no other option. People can and will go to where they like best, which is why Outpost is doing so well.

Bazaar does not ban for sharking, but that site also runs on a different philosophy than Outpost. Fiskie himself acknowledges that sharking is a moral gray area and he does not want to try and draw a line. We wish Bazaar all the best but here at Outpost we feel that it is in our best interest to ban for sharking when we are beyond a reasonable doubt that it has occurred.

I would say we'd lose more people from allowing sharks, meaning a net loss of total items being traded. That and we'd still have a tarnished image which is very bad when you have as many users as this site does.

We should also very much care where the items that our users sell come from. I couldn't care less if an item was duped or not, but I'd feel horrible to know I owned somebodies hat that they lost because they were taken advantage of due to them just not understanding the dark side of trading.

And for your second question, I would refuse that for the simple fact that a trade like that would be suspicious in the first place. People do not just add others out of the blue to offer a massive deal like that. I get what you're trying to say, but that type of situation just doesn't happen to the extent that typical sharking does.
