Game: Garry's Mod
Genre: Sandbox (a.k.a Do whatever you want)

The good:
- There is little - no restrictions on what you can do.
- Multiplayer. (Minor plus)
- 100% Community made (ex. Gamemodes, NPC's, Maps, etc)
- You can mount other Source games (like Counter Strike: Source, HL2) to add content to the game.

The bad:
- Most servers have tons of restrictions on what you can do (Mostly Sandbox servers)
- About 40% of items are complete garbage or not worth it.
- If you have a awful computer it lags like crazy and crashes.
- You need At least counter strike source for the game to work. (Extra 20$ + GM's price of 10$)

Overall:
Singleplayer and friends-only servers gives you complete freedom to do what you want. And the community holds the game up. Yet, Multiplayer is restrictive on 90% of servers and almost half of the add-ons are plain garbage. But it is still a creative and fun game. Gather some friends and have fun.
